Remember kids, don't double park!

But they don't.
To be clear, I absolutely despise people who park like that. In fact, I think I hate them. However, we live in a grown-up world full of grown ups and fighting a social faux pas with a criminal act does not justice make.
I won't sit here and pretend like I've never taken revenge on someone when they did something to offend me. I have and it was wrong. Had I been caught I would have gotten in trouble, and understandably so. But I buried the body so deep I don't think anyone will ever find it... err, uh, I mean... I... sure did key that car pretty good. Yeah, that's what I meant.
Seriously though, me the person won't lose sleep over someone getting their car vandalized because they like being an asshole but me the citizen has to find it deplorable to vandalize someone's car because you don't approve of their parking etiquette. Just imagine if you got pulled over for speeding or running a stop sign and the cop, rather than write you a ticket, spray painted your car or busted out a window. I mean, by the logical you guys are imploring, you broke the law, so who that's what you get, right? I think under those circumstances you would agree that the punishment doesn't fit the crime.
All that aside, I see little harm in using fake spray paint.

Would have been upset if someone had caused me financial harm to prove a point. Frankly it 'hurts' no one to double park. It does however cost money to fix paint.
Clearly this is fun. This might be more effective

It also depends on the lot/size of the parking stalls, and how clear the lines are.
At our office building, the spaces are very tight. I think they made the stalls for Miatas... My S fits fine, but when others cars are parked next to me, it gets really tough to get in and out (and I'm a very skinny guy). The parking garage across the street is just as bad, if not worse.
I park my S on the back side of the building where there are no posted lines so that I can park however I want. Usually I'm one of the first to park back there so everyone else just follows the pattern, and leaves enough space (most of the time).
