A 2007 STI Limited can be had for $25k easily. A NEW 08 STI can be had for under $29k, at least at the end of 2008. Neither even begins to compare to a Cayman S. And IMO, the earlier STI's are butt-ugly and the boxer "rumble" sounds like absolute crap! I much prefer the sound of my S2000, but to each his own.

You could also consider a used corvette or a 3 series. What about an A4? It's hard to make a suggestion when your choices are all over the place. Do you need AWD? Forced induction?
Nobody can get a new STI for $29,000 anymore. Its a moot point.

I have looked into the corvette but I only like the Z06 but that costs the same as a Cayman S. The interior is also lacking. But it does have monstrous amounts of power and it is good looking.

Looked into an A4 in the past but it is not that appealing. Way over-priced too.

Looked into a 335i and I am still considering it. The twin turbo 6 cylinder has a beautiful note and can be upgraded for cheap. Also comes with the most amenities and is a very capable daily driver.

I do not need AWD as I live in LA and FI is only an added benefit for a car.

A bigger computer screen. Get that Veyron in high def.

j/k Why not a newer R32? You don't have to get a high mileage one.

I am just "dreaming" for the time being until I can actually afford a car.
So basically, you are wasting our time. If you want to have a discussion, that's fine. There are plenty of discussions going on here. However, positioning this discussion as an advice thread is going to garner a lot of negative responses.

...As already evidenced

Dude, being broke and unemployed the closest you are going to get to a Porsche is ordering the brochure.

Wait a minute...

The guy sounds like he is just trying to think about something + to take his mind off of unemployment status. I'm in the same boat as him so why don't some of you talking shit take a chill pill. I didn't buy a house I couldn't afford, don't have insurance, and have made it 6 months so far being laid off. Man some of you have 0 compassion for anything.

The STi is cheap to mod and turns the car into something else, an animal. A downpipe and a tune and it's unreal for the cost. I'm trying to stay positive and look to a time when I can afford to go Stage 2 with some sway bars. Have wanted to do for a while but no $ in the bank for anything but bills right now.
