what about the SL? is it due for a facelift soon? i ask because we are buying 2 cars, a company car and a weekend golf car for my mom.

The SL had a recent redesign, so I wouldn't think you'll be seeing much changing there, just the usual trim/wheel changes that Mercedes like to do.
Some people upgrade the cars every now and then to keep the 'look' current.

whats the difference in insurance for the S500 and the SL500?

and also, is it better to take the car to the place purchased for maintenance or can i do it at any mercedes benz dealer?

Why not get an S430? If it's a company car, then you don't really need the extra power of the S500. I'm sure the S430 would be under $100K after options.

If I wanted to know the difference in insurance, I'd ask my insurance agent. There is no way to answer such a question unless you know all the facts about the person to be insured.
