Questions about G35 Coupe '03
I'm going with the Pops(He wants to pick one up all of a sudden ) to look at an '03 Infiniti G35 coupe tomorrow and I usually don't like to go into situations like these without knowing common issues with the particular MY. I'm trying to find info on G35 forums but if you guys have any experience and know of some common issues and things to look out for then please let me know. Thanks Guys
The car is Auto with 83k miles, I know the mileage is kinda high but I suppose the VQ engine should be pretty reliable right?

unless its the deal of a century I wouldnt purchase a sports coupe with 83k on it. My friend has one and its been pretty reliable so far.
IMO the mileage is high but he wants to go and look at it, so I just want some ammo to persuade him otherwise by being able to point out things wrong with the car if I find them.

I had an 04 Coupe... within 6 months of ownership, both window motors went out and one of my speakers went out... Not the biggest concern though, it was under warranty, but I think its usually $150 per window motor to replace.
I can't remember, but I think there were some other problems with the 03, anyone remember? Also, I've heard of a couple of problems with the manual tranny... I don't know exactly what it is though

From my understanding, engine oil burning problem, the mentioned chronic window problem, window speakers, but unlike teh Z there's no tranny problem (well, 3500lbs with 300lbs of torque, eventually, but nothing unusual). Seems like most of it as to do with the non-drivetrain stuff.

let us know how you like the ride after the test drive. I test drove it and didn't think it drove as cool as it looked. Nothing to sporty or fancy. felt like another japanese car. The G37 is a strong car.

UPDATE: When we showed up the car was already sold so we didn't get to test drive it.
Thanks for the advice anyways guys.
BTW: I got way more useful responses (more responses in general) here than the freakin G35 forums....thats why I love it here.
