Default prototype spotted in NM

my wife and i were on vacation and driving between albuquerque and santa fe (75mph limit - gotta luv that) when out of the blue my wife spots this car... i just happened to be snapping shots of the surrounding landscape, so i was able to take a few photos.

i'm thinking some type of exotic prototype fellas...

a Lotus blew by us to take a look and see if he could maybe get some action.

but i think he was intimidated and backed off after taking a look up close.

my wife managed to pull up close and i took one last shot.

i'm still not sure what makes people do sh*t like this to their cars.

GM badge-engineering and retro 90s rehashed styling ftw! Kudos GM...looks like the bailout $$$ is being put to good use on no cost R&D.

Under all that heavy disguise it's hard to tell what that really is, but I'm guessing the new, smaller mid engine Vette.

Looks like a guido RoadMaster that killed a Super Bird and stuffed it in the trunk

It's GM's version of the Superbird. Except it's AWD, twin clutch, twin turbo, LS9 which gets 32mpg highway.

No, that is definitely a Buick Roadmaster circa mid-90s. The Caddy Deville does look similar, I guess.

The Cadillac DeVille was not the stablemate of the RoadMaster back then. The Cadillac Fleetwood was, however. The Fleetwood was a bit bigger than the DeVille, and was RWD, as opposed to the DeVille's and other Caddys' FWD. The RoadMaster, Fleetwood, and Caprice were all killed off after 1996.

This is what happens when ricers get old - they move from Civics to Buicks, but keep the wings...
