price independent cars?
do you think the s2000 is a price independent car? what i mean by this is even if i win the 100 million lottery tomorrow i'd probably still kept the s2000, or buy one if i didn't already have one.
there's no other car that i can buy that is a roadster, revs to 9k, makes you feel like you're sitting in a race car, etc. it's a fun car to drive. on the other car, if i had a 350z, e.g., i'd probably ditch it and get a 360 or something.
obviously i'd buy some other cars too but you get my point.
agree? disagree? what other cars do you think are price independent?
i think miatas might be price independent. seems like so many people love that car.

another car that is price independent:
Toyota Prius. It's not my choice, and I don't believe all the hype about how regular cars are bad, but there is a group of people who buy into that. For example Lary David (creator if Sienfield) drives one on his show. He could drive a SL600 if he wanted to.

The S2000 is not price-independent to me. Ferraris fill the same need for more $$$. Want go-kart handling? "Alex, I'll take Lotus for $200." There's always an NSX-R.
Even my Z06 is not price-independent. Though I would sort of keep it. If I won the lottery tomorrow it'd be shipped to LPE for $50K in upgrades the day after. Then I'd have to buy a fully built Viper to compare it to
Price-independent means best-of-the-best to me. Mostly classic car and exotic stuff.

i'm not saying that if i win 100 million i would only keep the S2000...of course i'd get a shit load of other cars....but i'd probably keep the S around for fun...now the accord, that's definitely out the door, no need to keep it. or like if i had a camaro i'd just get a ferrari).

If I had $100 mil... I would go back and fix up my 88 Acura legend to a degree that it would not even be recognizable. That was my first car to fix up and I am 100% loyal, even though a bunch of low lifes started purchasing it later on and ruining the good name (LEGEND... I can't think of a better name for a car).
And yes... maybe a Scion xB, also.

Top cars, price no object:
1) Porsche Carrera GT ($400,000)
2) Ford GT ($150,000)
3) Lamborghini Gallardo ($165,000)
4) Porsche 911 GT3 ($99,000)
5) Honda S2000 ($32,000)
In other words, even if I had $90,000 for a car, I'm buying an S2000. (I *really* wish Honda made a $45k-$50k sports car... The NSX is very nice but not worth the cost.)
