WOW

Anyone know if that's typical?

I would be interested in a low/no option CS at $10K under
It is typical for the 2006's right now - around $500 to $1,000 over invoice. We have a few that can be had in this territory: http://checkered-flag.porschedealer.com/ne....php?model=987c

what's the big surprise?

2007's are here...of course 2006's are gonna go for peanuts.

that's what a one year old cayman is worth.

btw, has nothing to do with it being a cayman....would apply to any car (percentages may differ slightly).

No I mean is $10K under MSRP typical?
Only if there is enough equipment on the car to make that kind of markup possible. The base Cayman S has about $6-$7,000 markup in it.

Once you get into PCM, upgraded seats, Bose (without preferred package) you can get the markup higher.

I would agree with you if this was true.

But I have been helping him with the shopping and you can get a really great deal on an 07 too if you shop around.

It does have to do with the Cayman S. This same friend could get $6k off an 07 order if he wanted (but he doesn't want to wait and plans on keeping the car forever, so he says )

This is true

The only cars that won't get a discount on are GT'd cars, RS'd cars and Turbo'd 911's. You can snag a Turbo Cayenne S for a helluva deal right now! The C4S's and other harder-to-get 911's won't be discounted as much as some others, but still better than usual

doughy...talk some sense into him.

you'd have to be braindead not to pony up an extra 6% for a one year newer model (all else being equal).

I wish I could but he's a lawyer and it's tough for me to change his mind. The main reason he is going to stick with this deal is because of the NAV option. He originally wasn't going to get it and the final price is close to what he was going to pay on an 07 order without it.

I've been trying to tell him not to get the grey interior but he won't listen. He'll learn in a couple of years why grey is not a good choice for leather.

That's propaganda stats at its finest! How much of that 50% 911 parts are also used in Boxster? IIRC, Boxster and 911 share a high percentage in parts as well (something in the 50% range). And most of that 20% specially crafted are in the bumpers, spoiler, tailpipe, wheel, etc. Only difference of significance is the tin roof.

Btw, Boxster and Cayman have the same brakes
OK. I'm just passing on what I read. I haven't given Porsches a second look since sometime in the 70s, as I recall. But the lines of the Caymen combined with the interior features have awakened the sleeping Brian Redman within.

Sales must doing ok around here. I asked the Porsche salesman to give me some numbers on a lease and he's never called me back in over a week.
