Default Prelude SH, as a Toy Car?

Currently my toy car is 2001 NB Miata (base suspension, no LSD )

My neighbor is looking to sell his 2000 Prelude SH with 96k miles on it he's the only owner.

Should I sell the miata to get this or would it be a downgrade in the fun factor.

I have owned a 1995 Integra GSR so I'm not sure if the Prelude SH would be much different... thoughts, comments, and recommendations as always fellow S2ki.com posters

I think you'd have more fun staying with the Miata. THe Prelude SH would make for a decent daily driver, but it's hard to beat the bang-for-buck fun factor with a lightweight, RWD car with good handling, brakes, steering feedback, and transmission.

No, I don't think a Prelude is really a great toy car. It was a great car in its day but a toy car should be something special like an S2000. Thats just my opinion.

It all depends on the intended use. If you do some weight reductions to use it for the track it would be a really reliable toy/track car.

The Prelude is not a toy car. Fun economy car maybe, but its not as fun as a Miata.

I owned one, and loved it, but more as a DD only car that covered all my automotive needs at the time. It was the best handling fwd car of its time, and one of the best of all time, but still not as entertaining as a Miata. Plus, the Miata has a much deeper aftermarket, if modding is part of the fun to you.

funny you mention that, I just took my friend to buy his 99 prelude SH
100k miles 1 owner, wackomatic though.
His future brother in law is a hardcore honda mechanic and is going to do a 5speed conversion for him.

He went from a jeep, so Id say the Prelude fits the fun car factor in his case, not in yours. If I had a Miata Id keep it.

I am keeping my eye out for a nice GSR (or Hype-R) Integra. That is my ideal car. The aftermarket is so strong behind those DCs and the B series. Plus they look a TON bedtter (IMO) than a Miata and are FWD, so a little different than the S.

Hate to kill part of your story.. but if its an automatic, than its not an SH as im about 99% sure that all SHs came in Manual
