Electric motors have better torque curves, so does that make them better than diesel?

If you can show me an electric car with 700 ft/lbs of torque and a range of hundreds of miles, I'll say yes.

Now we're getting to my point - that every type engine is a compromise. There is no magic bullet, which makes all the hype over diesel hilarious to me.
