I didn't even know there was a car collection there. The Sac2KDays run goes to Reno every year (this coming weekend is this years run). Maybe we will have to check it out.

I stayed there once while I was attending the SEMA show about 3 years ago. It was real cheap and I thought it was a hole. I will never stay there by choice again. The car display did include some really rare pieces, but was rather small and went through it in about 20-25 minutes. I wish I could have seen the display in all of the old man's glory!

I grew up in Reno and remember when Harrah's Auto Collection was in its prime. My Dad took me there many times in the '60s and '70s. It was HUGE - housed in a couple airplane-sized hangars. Vehicles from the 19th Century to the present day.
It really helped stoke my interest in cars. Dad and I went back to the new collection a couple years ago, and while it's more slick now, it's vastly smaller.

I saw it last year, and it was still a great collection, considering I never saw the original. I liked the Jerrari! It was an older Jeep Grand Cherokee, slightly stretched hood, with a Ferrari V12. And it still had 4wd.
Somebody had parked a Citroen SM (with the Maserati engine) on the street outside the museum, which was quite a rare sight too.
