Possibly Buying / Leasing New '06 RSX!
Since my credit rating was actually very low, were talking in the 475 range the dealer is trying to convince me to lease an RSX instead of buying. That way my monthly payment is low, etc. Is this a bad idea?
I'm trying to decide what I want to do, and when leasing a car you can't do any mods AT ALL correct? Because thats going to be extremely difficult for me to handle.
They're saying a 3-3.5 year lease might be the easiest thing to do at this point.

lease deals let the dealer mess around with too many variables to confuse you. i would get your dad to co-sign with you to get a lower interest rate, this would also help your score as you pay it off (as the lease would as well) another option would be to buy a cheap car, maybe $2-3k, get a loan for it with your dad, then pay it off real quick, then do that a few times to get good loan histories on your record. then you can get a better car. in this day and age, the only thing more valuable than your life is your credit score. you will thank me later when you want to buy a house (where a 1/4 point interest could mean tens of thousands of dollars).

P.S. my .02 - I HATE car payments, for a little bit they are ok, but then you see what you could be doing with that money and it will make you crazy. I could have over $1000 extra a month if i had gone with cheaper cars. If you can avoid them, do it. you save on payments, insurance, depreciation, etc.
