I don't get why some people are so surprised by how it looks. Porsche released a 4 door concept 20 years ago they just never decided to build it. (989) The Panamera's design is nothing new.
Porsche said they destroyed the prototype but they just put it in storage. When they heard of the Aston Martin Rapide and other cars like that they probably brought it out. The cars look very similar.
