PORSCHE ON FIRE!
A buddy of mine had the lastest CarandD and it caught my eye. The cover featured the E63, CTS-V, XF-R battling it out. The car I assumed would win definitely didnt. MB shockingly made a stout E63!
Anyhow, the mag featured a 5page road test on the PANAMERA Turbo. I'm still in absolute awe about what I read. It spoke about how its wider than almost everything on U.S. roads. It handled better than just about any sedan they can think of. I was in a rush so I sped thru it and and went straight to the specs.
Here is what I remember:
3.3 seconds to 60mph
11.7 quartermile@ 120mph
500hp 568lb tq
HOLY HELL MAN!! Sadly, I don't recall who I had a dispute with on here about how the acceleration wall sedans hit. He claimed they wont go much lower than 3.9-4.0 sec. Porsche has a car for you, friend. This thing will blow the doors off the current M5, CTS-V, E63, etc. All while being heavier and more fuel efficient. Yes, it costs substantially more but its still an incredible GT-R like feat. Isaac Newton must be riding shotgun.
Porsche is an automaker whose art is making incredibly competent sports car. With their first sedan, they have truly created a masterpiece.
Those saying it will be a flop need to clean their loop. Link below. VAG is prepared to carry this out to a T. Go preview a CarandD since its not online yet.

^Styling is definitely questionable but performance is eye opening. The BMW fanboy in me wishes the next gen M5 throws the kitchen sink. F that, they will need to throw the whole whose. This thing is clearly in a league of its own.
CarandD is estimating the 911 Turbo to rip 60mph in 3.0 flat and quarter in 11.3. I could believe it now.

Performance figures are down right staggering for a sedan that size (any car really) and I'll be shocked if BMW will even attempt to de-throne it with the new M5.
I really don't see BMW beating this thing.

Went to the dealer and it IS as ugly as it is in pics. EXCEPT for black, in black it somehow looks nice. The interior is wonderful except for what appears to be a million switches on the ctr console when you first get in. The rear seats are unbelievable as well. IMO I think they should have taken the "porsche" out of the rear design. But everything else from head to toe was legit. Didn't get to test drive b/c it had just started raining.

I don't think the M5 can beat that in real world testing without AWD.
I hope that VAG doesn't kill it. There's talk it could rebadge as an Audi.
I would rather have a Boxster S + Panamera Turbo than a GT2.
