My previous car was a used Boxster S. I could have bought a used Z06 for the same money, but I chose not to for a several reasons -- I wanted a convertible, I wanted a smaller and nimbler car (not that the Boxster's compact, but it is compared to a Vette), and frankly, due to its hair-shirt legacy I'd be a little bit embarrassed to drive a Corvette on the street (the track would be a different matter altogether ). Hopefully this stigma will fade along with the memory of the C3 Corvette...

Vettes, S2000s, and Boxsters are all awesome cars, but their strengths and weaknesses are in different areas, so I suspect the choice between them is pretty quick for most people.

Thanks, I missed that thread since it's not in this forum.

There's a rumor of a 300hp RS Boxster with the next gen (and maybe it'll be a coupe). That'd be my ideal car, but I don't know if it'll ever happen since that's stepping on the 911s toes.
