Ian Callum did the Jag and Aston Martin, I think, so it makes sense that they would have similar design cues...

So are you suggesting that it's OK for Jaguar to borrow Aston's styling cues, but not Porsche?

IMO, the Jag is a pretty blatant AM ripoff, just not as well done.
I agree with that but I also overlook it to some degree because in recent times both were part of the same company. Also, it's a rather English look and both are English (originally). Finally, who want's to be the third person in line to copy some other work. That would be live Ford coming out with the Me3 Cruiser!

I think it looks alright, but the GT3 looks better!

While I'll agree that Porsche needs some new styling cues, having them clearly look like another's brand (since Porsche's caliber is pretty high) is kind of bad IMO. I know this is a concept, but it's almost as bad as the whole reverse Mercedes E-class looks like a Hyundai Genesis sedan thing.

Regarding the styling, it's worth keeping in mind that the Autoexpress photos bear as much semblance of reality as all the "next-gen S2000" photos did. In other words, it's a speculative rendering by a magazine that has nothing to do with any design that Porsche might or might not be considering. I suspect that it looks like an AM/Jag probably because it might be a photoshopped AM or Jag.

Wake me when (if!) Porsche ever releases something official.

It looks like the Panamera from the front. I like it.

I suspect if the Panamera looks like a success, they're get onto a coupe very soon (whether it gets labeled as a 928 or not). There's a surprising number of people based on what I've read on other boards who are interested in the Porsche brand, but not enthralled with the 911 platform (I imagine these folks were also Cayenne targets). Now they're back on a front engine, RWD, car product (with a couple of engine options in the V8 and V8TT).

Funny enough I saw a black 928 here in St. Aug just today, very clean, sounded great - I've noticed quite a few of the 928's I see have been through the wringer.
