Default Porsche 911TT vs GT3 dyno

Found this on another forum.

Not really a fair comparison when you consider the turbo has to put the power through all 4 wheels, but an interesting graph none the less.

The "base" is the 996TT "test" is the GT3. Look at how much later it makes its power.

3395 give or take a little for the turbo vs 3100 pounds give or take for the GT3.

The difference between a boosted engine vs. NA engine. Also remember the rev limit on the TT is about 1500 RPM shy of the GT3. One thing you got to love about the GT3 is the 8200 RPM rev limiter. Very interesting dyno though. I think they are saying all over the Porsche boards that the GT3's real hp is really closer to the 400-420 range (vs. stated 375 hp).

Have you dyno'd your 911 yet?

Or... What are normal whp figures?

I've seen 2 dynoes for the GT3, one came in at 358 whp, the other at 368 whp. For the TT I have seen (with AWD disengaged) 370 whp on the dyno.

Of course the nice thing about the turbo is that for 500-2000 dollars (pick your vendor) another 100+ horsepower is available.

I'd take a GT3 for the track and a TT for the streets.

Very true. The beauty of a factory built up turbo engine ! I have seen very few mods for a GT3. One guy had a chip but it gave up way too much mid range, for a little high end. I guess you could swap out for GT3 race seats and a carbon fiber hood to lose even more weight. There is a full exhaust (headers, cats, and exhaust) that will net (a claimed) 25 hp but that is $6K !!! If you want a hp beast (w/AWD & Stability Management) go for the 911TT, but the GT3 is one of the best track cars out there right now (not that the 911 TT is too shabby), or if you want the best of both worlds, might I suggest a GT2
