I got to valet one of these the other week, the build quality on this car is excellent. a very nice car. And No I didn't drive it hard, just parked it and then moved it later to the front next to the sl, yup. Here are some pics I snapped with my cell. Really like this color combo alot better than the silver.

There were 350 allocated to the US market, making it much more rare than competitors such as 997 TT, R8, M6. However, it seems an underappreciated car today. While it stickers for ~$140k, cars with less than 3,000 miles can be had for <$100k. CLK63 Black Series will be a future classic.
This car is incredible on track. Much closer in handling capability to GT3 than 997 TT. As others have mentioned, the weakest aspect is the conventional torque converter automatic transmission. Due to demand from owners, AMG updated the software to enable throttle blipping on downshifts. All it requires is a dealer reflash.
