(I know - "Nice spelling on the post title" - I'm a bad typist and I dont know how to edit titles.)
Anyone see the new pontiac roadster on the cover of C/D? (The "Solstice")
I heard 0-60 in the sub 5 range and a $30k price tag.
Not that I'd take it over the S, but some competition for sure if pontiac actually builds it.
Although their design team probably wont be able to resist adding a few hideous body compenents just prior to production.

It looks great. If it's not too much of a GM Fiero-parts-bin car, it might
be ok. 240hp with a lot of supercharged torque might be nice. The
Getrag 6 spd from Z28 is probably more than stout enough for the job.

I think that sub 5 second 0-60 is a misprint. I think they mean 5.7, not 4.?. i just don't see how that is possible. even supercharged I don't see that happening. I like it. but I don't think that Pontiac will be able to sell it for what they want and I don't think that it will be insurable for many people. All the performance means nothing if the general public (I think that Lutz wants to target these people to be able to afford the car) cannot financially afford to own it.
If I missed something or my figures are off, please correct and explain.

Here are the numbers from c/d
Curb weight (est) 2400-2500 lb
C/D-estimated performance (supercharged roadster):
Zero to 60 mph 4.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph 11.0 sec
Standing 1/4-mile 13.2 sec @ 108 mph
seems like they are assuming that weight/hp combination will produce some aggressive stats. Perhaps it is a misprint.
Nice looking car though IMO:
