I saw an orangish G8 GT at a gas station I was passing. It looks pretty good to me IRL. What might get some people is that the car requires ''premium'' gasoline. Dont Vettes run on regular unleaded??

It actually runs on regular and thats the spec fuel, but from what I've read you can add premium and the computer will compensate the octane and make more power.

niiiiiiiice, doesnt the genesis do that too? it would be cool if they get it to compensate automatically for 93 octane or even 100

The GXP will have a detuned LS3 pushing about 406hp with an available 6-speed.
It'll be a sweet car.

Well, even the S2000 does this. The difference is, the S runs on 91 octane and will retard timing with 87. Maybe the G8 is just doing it the other way around?

Motortrend and Insideline used premium fuel for there roadtests. Does that mean the car will be slower on 87?? I wonder how much the fuel economy will increase or if it even equates at all.

Honestly, I have no idea. I've only ever heard of cars that run on spec fuel or a retarded low-octane setting, but I believe the car does make its full listed hp on 87 octane.
