Wow, many of you do speed a lot! I expected the 5-10 range to dominate, but I guess it depends on the regions you live in.

Edit: don't count racing, speeding at night, driving in a rush, etc.
If you don't count driving in a rush, I never drive. I couldn't find that choice, though, so I picked "at the speed limit" as the closest thing to "0 mph".

I usually cruise 5-10 over the limit. I get somewhat irked that some people actually drive at the limit- dont they realize their speedo usually reads 2-5% slower?

I wouldnt go much faster (on avg) than 10 over because paranoia takes over and I feel like I have to watch for cops. Whether it be at an intersection, an "authorized vehicles only" sign and even on ramps! At 10 over, I'll encounter some people who go faster than that. When they come up behind me, and I cant tell what kind of car it is, I'll back of just in case its a cop.

on city streets it's usually ~5-10 over. I never go over 25 in 25 zones. On the freeway I usually go about 10-15 over

Usually @ 10 over. My thinking is that cops won't trifle with you for that. Plus, if u see one, you can usually just tap the brake quickly and be w/in the "safe zone" of 0-5 over.

Texas cops might...

I usually do 7 over because there's no way they can confuse that with 10.

However, I have a friend who was been ticketed for going 6 over in Texas...

...and in the middle of the night, only one on the freeway for miles, etc.

With a V-1 I don't even think about it.

They can still pace you. They don't need radar.

Oh, so you think V-1 is some kind of magic, do ya? That makes you invincible? They can pace you or even judge your speed from their experience, and judges tend to place a great deal on officers' experience over your words.

I've spoken to many cops, and they told me they tend to be more aggressive toward radar owners. What could of been a warning just turned into a full blown ticket for anything possible. (Usually)

I for one drive with the traffic, which is usually 5-10 over. If I'm alone then I'm usually 5-10 over still ;p
