Red face Poll of speed!

Remember to be honest! NORMALLY, how faster do you drive than the speed limits, with a chance of being pulled over?

Edit: don't count racing, speeding at night, driving in a rush, etc.

As fast as the traffic conditions allow. I've been anywhere from under the speed limit to about 110mph over the speed limit on a certain highway late at night.

Excuse me! I said "NORMALLY", like during the flow of traffic in the middle of the day. If most people go at 70 mph, at what speed do you drive? If most people drive at 40 mph in the cities in the middle of the day, at what speed do you drive normally?

C'mon people, don't ruin the poll by counting exceptions, such as racing, speeding late at night, crawling in traffic jams, etc.!

In the city, I normally drive @ the posted limit, or even a little under. On the highway, usually 10-15 over, depending on traffic levels/conditions.

Typically, like going to work or dinner or such, it's 0 to 5 over on city streets, 5 to 10 on the highways. Although there is a stretch of toll road here that's posted 55mph and the vast majority of cars take it at 75 to 80 at lunchtime.

I'm a homicide detective. I ain't got no time to care about your speeding. Patrolmen do that. If your family or friends are murdered, then it's my business, if within my jurisdiction.

Just looking for rough statistics on this site, compared to the general public.

This is very much like me; about 5 over in the cities and 10 on the highways. Most cars I've observed also do that.

Cities I stay fairly close, highways I do 15+ usually. On long drives I hold it to 20 over.. or at least less than 25 over. If I'm gonna get a ticket, don't want it to be a 20+ over, 19 or less is fewer points.

Then again, this is west coast (especially CA). Average commute speed on I-280 is like 85-90mph at rush hour!
