Police car sales

I was watching a history channel thing on cop cars, and they (the cops) that were interviewed said crown vics are still at the top, not because of chasing power (that's what interceptors are for) but everyday usability and trunk space =)

It seems like in UT they're giving chargers to the state troopers and guys who might need the power, but the city cops usually have impalas or crown victorias/etc.
After talking with a few cops in the last 2-3 years (usually while getting a ticket), it seems like the versatility is much more important to them than the power and handling. People almost always stop, whether it's fast or slow.

Actually no, when I was growing up all the coips rode around in Plymouth Gran Fury III's.
And I seriously never understood why this never became a cop car, it's like perfect for the job.

FWIW, a friend of ours that's a sherrif in Craven County (New Bern, NC) has one as his "patrol car" and he says other than the "cool" factor...he dislikes it...it's cramped and he says it's hard to see out of...
I've seen several decked out and they do make HOT cop cars.
I've seen them as Sherrif cars...State Highway Patrol...and even City Cops...
