Congrats. I hope your order goes smoother than the C6 vert process which was something of a nightmare. My C6 vert was due in early November, but I am only now getting it this week. What a mess. Good luck!

I shouldn't have done this, but went for a drive today in a slightly breathed on Z06 with race slicks and lowered for track purposes. OH MY GOD was that thing fast. Torque everywhere, revved out great and wanted to break the tires loose at the whimsy of your foot. Driving home in 2sk seemed tame, and the vtec barely noticeable. I love my s2k, but damn that was a rush. Good thing I can't afford a convertible vette right now, or it would be all over.

I predict you masterminding ways to afford it soon enough. I couldn't get my z06 ride out of my mind. It's still in my mind now and drove my entire purchase process tons of spreadsheets and all.

However, I can tell you that my love for the s2000 has grown back to it's normal I really love this car level.

If you can't afford a ZO6, you ought to look at the 90-92 ZR-1's. they are pretty cheap right now. I know under 20k mile cars are going for low $20's. That's a good deal for a 385 hp car with a 8k redline(maybe 7900). These cars still hold the fastest 500 miles substained by a production car. And if you follow Corvette appreciation chart, these cars should start appreciating in value in the next 4 years. Just my .02

About a year ago I made the mistake of test driving a Z06. I say a mistake b/c I already had the S2000 just 18 months. So I should have test drove the Z06 2.5 years ago.

Point is, I almost talked myself into buying the Z06. At one time I thought the S2000 was a little fast, but not now. VETEC? Touch the gas at 2000 rpms in a Z06 and you're accelerating faster than a S2000 will at 7000 rpm.

Well my S2000 had lost so much value, I couldn't trade it in for another car, massive depreciation waiting to happen. So I keep the S2000.

I'd like to keep it for 5 years to spread out the loss over time. (33 months to go but who's counting?)

Just curious, what happens to your status if you sell your s2000?
Do I turn into an enthusiast or am an still an owner?

You should be labeled "trader."

Congrats.
