...its been put best here:
Maybe this is not an enthusiast site. Just a bunch of posers who like a good looking car whose worlds start and end with a cheap trunkless Pontiac.

I love the looks of the S2000. I think it is flawless. A lot of Japanese cars have some funky or weird flare or swoop or detail that ruins the overall cohesiveness of an otherwise nice looking car. The S2000 suffers from no such flaws.
If the Solstice GXP was not available, I would have bought an S2000 in a heartbeat. As it is, I just prefer torque and with the OE GM tune, I have 340 lb-ft of torque at 3600 RPM, so I'm pretty happy. If the S2000 had a V6 or something with good torque, it would have been in the running.
I do prefer the looks of the Solstice. The grill is a huge flaw. Also, the large silver headlamp bezels follow the fender curve and give a "cross eyed" look. But the car has an organic, coke-bottle shape with compound curves, up-swept front fenders, and unique to non-exotic roadsters -- it is the only one when you drop the top it completely disappears. I love that aspect. The car is simply "topless" when stowed and there is no exposed top sitting behind the seats screaming "here I am".
So yes, I prefer the Solstice GXP by looks and for its torque. But the S2000 is a gorgeous, fun car and if they didn't make a Solstice or Sky, it is what I would be driving now.

S2000 leather is crappy too
+1 to the seat adjustment sucking. And lack of heated seats.
