The EVO I drove wasn't close to a Corvette as far as delivering effortless speed and comfort. Not to mention EVOs and STis aren't classy. They are fun and cool for car people but not classy.

Classy? I don't think the Vette exudes class at all. I love it as a vehicle but I wouldn't call it classy by any stretch of the imagination. It speaks of taste in performance, not necessarily taste in style or tailored excess.
The Cayman is definitely classier, though I wouldn't necessarily call it classy either. 911? Classy. Maserati GranTurismo? Classy.

I think the corvette should be expensive. its not for everyone. its made to be fast and be a true sports car. yeah its not as nice as a turbo 911 or an r8, but its just as fast and CHEAPER. if every kid in america could buy one then it wouldnt be a corvette. you cannot buy a car at the same price the corvette is and get down or around the track faster. the is nothing within 50K new that will do it. the corvette is still something special and its a niche car. all the kids are liking e46s and g35s because they are cheap, cheap to modify, and cheap to insure and maintain. to own a corvette it takes a bit more responsibility. you cant just buy it and drive. it is a grown ups car.

I stand by classy. I think a non car person would say it's a nice car/ premium car. I don't see people thinking the EVO is anything more than an econobox that goes fast.
