Please be careful out there guys....
I have had many friends go down and get scraped pretty good. I have had many friends knocked themselves unconscious and spent numerous days at the hospital but yesterday, for the first time, I had a friend passed away due to severe trauma.
Justin, 23, died last night. He was a terrific kid. He loved his GSX-R 1000 he bought last year. He was not wearing a helmet and miscalculated a willie and landed on another friend of mine at about 75 mph. Mike (636) is doing well and is banged up pretty good. He has been released from the hospital, unfortunately Justin did not make it.
Please keep his family in your thoughts. This has been extremely devastating for our riding group and even more so for his family.

As an avid biker I'm sorry to read this, family and friends are in my chants.
As an Upstate New Yorker, who has no choice but to ride with a helmet, I can not help but say ride safe, and wear a helmet, please!
Again, Angel, my condolences.

Very sorry to hear about your friend passing. It's always difficult to hear about riders being killed, regardless of the cause. It makes you think about how dangerous what we do can be, and what we can do to minimize those dangers.
Ride safe.
Ride safe.

I'm sorry about your friend. Many people who ride with helmets don't wear them when doing slow wheelie shows (under80mph). I am one of them, thanks for strengthening my inclination to wear one. It's odd for people to have serious head trauma from recreational wheelies. Was this the type of scenario for this loss? I get the feeling that they were just hanging out in front of someone's house or something.

It may not apply in this situation but one problem w/ wheelies at night is that your headlight is in the trees not in front of you, therefore cars have almost no chance to see you.
