Hey Konrad, the Matrix looks better with the S2k antenna!

My friend borrowed mine once, I had a hard time getting it back from him.

I hope you're kidding. I don't think any of us in this thread said it's a sweet SPORTS CAR. It's not even in the same league as an S2000, etc. It's a fun sport sedan/wagon crossover thing that does a lot of things well and is a great value and it's quite a bit of fun and very versatile.

If I had traded my C5 on this car, I would probably have been hung or hung myself by now. The Vibe/Matrix is a great deal for someone wanting a second or third car.

Konrad, sweet pics, gotta love some snow in TX. I haven't driven the XR/base Vibe with the 1ZZ motor, I knew I wanted to 2ZZ motor with the high redline, but I have heard that the 1ZZ motor has a bit more tractability at lower rpms and is a plenty good motor, glad you're enjoying yours. Good color too!!

Yes, that's true, but my friend liked it, so I just made a suggestion.

Yeah, she's mine. The snow was new to her (Calla) so I thought to let her out on our excursion to the canyons. Thanks for the compliment on the pic btw.

My gf picked up a VIBE ( non-gt ) last weekend. I really like the car. I can't wait to fold the seats down and load it up with auto-cross stuff for the s2k.

The value is great on the Pontiac side.

Our sticker was around 19.7 K and we paid 16.3 K + ttr ( including GM's 2k rebate and no trade). I guess we could have gotten another 1,000 off if we had a GM card.

For 16,300 there weren't any other cars that had any style and came as well equiped, or were half as versitle.

Her's is all black ( no grey cladding ) and it looks pretty good.
Power moonroof + power doors/windows/cruise/auto-trans all for 16.3 I'm still surprised at the value a week after we bought it.

( no matter what it is so much better than the ECHO she used to have. )

When you factor in everything you get for the money after taking into consideration all the rebates and whatnot GM has, you get a heck of a lot of car for the money. NJTOM2000, I should have driven a base model with five-speed to see what the difference is on the low-end. I like revving my motors, so I don't have a problem taking mine up when I need the extra power, but I'm curious as to whether the base motor has any more low-end than the Vibe GT/Matrix XRS motor?
