Patrick Dempsey Racing Le Mans

I watched and enjoyed the series. Patrick seems like a good, honest guy (some of you guys are being too critical). And some of the racing footage was intense. I agree that professional level racing like that is too much of a big, money driven business for my liking. Still a fan though.

Yeah honestly, it's the reason why I don't have teh same respect for drivers like I do with traditional atheletes, the barriers of entry is just too steep especially at that higher level of racing. I mean Jeff Gordon is a good example of this.
It's like that's great, you have a great lap time, how much did you pay to get to that level? Which is why I sorta enjoy motogp a bit more, it's a bit more down to earth.

I totally understand why the racing organization would want to make a big deal out of having a celebrity in their midst and how they would use that to promote their brand of racing. However, the whole thing feels very contrived. He comes across as someone who has no business being on the track as more qualified racers and who is so humble about the experience that his humility seems disingenuous.
It reminds me of listening to a drunk person talk about how fond they are of something. It just seems artificial.

there are a couple of other professional actors who also are into racing: P Newman and S McQueen. I am not sure if P Demsey is any less of a gearhead than them. May not be as good but probably nearly as much as a gear head.
PS. also forgot to mention Luke Perry

This just reminded me that there has not been a recommendation for "Love the Beast" on Netflix stream. A FANTASTIC movie for car guys.
