Hey all-

Looking to pick up one of two Porsches in the next month. Hoping for opinions on good forums to read about Boxsters and Caymans. The Boxster is an RS60 and the Cayman is a leftover 2007 "S" model which is well optioned. Any thoughts on how much off I can get on the Cayman- the list is 71K- dealer implied he take 5-7K off. Less room to negotiate on the Boxster as it is "limited", but still, no one is selling cars right now. Figure I could get some off....

Thanks for the help. Either of these cars would be a third car, a "fun" car for use on nice days and weekends. Still trying to fill the void left by the sale of the S2K.

Jim
I'm also in the market for a Cayman S. You can do MUCH better than $5-7M off sticker! Just missed out on a real nice 2007 S, Carrera White w/19" sport design wheels, preferred package plus, with only 100 miles yet CPO'd for 6yrs and 100,000 miles. Sold for under $53M.

The Caymanclub site is a good resource for information, and for the most part the guys are pretty friendly and helpful there.

Unless you are completely against getting used, Ebay tends to have 07 cayman s' with less than 10k miles for BINs of $40-45k.

09s are getting a facelift and a hp bump so I'd not buy a 07 unless it was a great deal.

Again, thanks for all the insight. I will see what else I can get them to come off on the Cayman. I get the sense they are willing to wait on the Boxster since it is limited in production, even if there is not too much special about it. Still, in person and on the road it is a fabulous car to drive. More than I expected. And everyone on an S2k board knows the power of the drop top!

I will also do some more research on the suggested P-car boards. Again, thanks for the insight. I find it weird that I lurk on the this site daily, yet I haven't had an S2K for over a year. I just love the conversations here and the feedback seems free from the crap I see so many other places.

Jim

PS- I am a cardiologist (For inquiring minds who figured out my user name)
