Great track car, but being on the streets in a car that weighs less than 2000lbs. isn't very cool if you get in an accident considering H2's tip the scales over 5000lbs. and they are everywhere around here.
A cage on the other hand could do wonders...

put it this way: a ferrari 360 modena cost around $120K (approx. 3 times the price the elise). the modena sports a v8 engine (2 times the amount of cylinders in the elise motor), with a displacement of 3.6L (2 times the displacement of the elise motor), that produces 400hp (approx. 2.11 times the amount of power produced by the elise motor). both are specialty track/sports cars with exemplary performance capabilities unfound in 90% of the automobiles sold on the market. now i'll let you draw your own conclusion...
