Why not an SL65?

It's just had a facelift, a new model isn't likely to be out for another 4-5 years and you'd think MB has worked out all the kinks by now.

There's the killer depreciation that goes hand in hand with AMG ownership but I don't think your uncle will mind too much (or he does mind, which is why he's keeping it for 5 years - which is just as well).

V8 Vantage, with all the trimmings please. You can buy a lot of service for the money selling an '04 S2000 and 4 years of savings.

Used should be around 200k since new was like 260k...

Faster production car then the Bugatti Veyron.. FOR WAY LESS!!!
That is not a production car if it's not produced by Dodge. It is a modified car by a private tuner.

You would pick a fastest possible car for $200K to drive solely for 5 years without knowing its daily driving demeanors?

With the above requirements, I'm thinking a new S65 AMG, but I would be really concerned about maintenance/repair costs in that 5th year of ownership out of warranty, plus it probably drives like a big car (which it is).

So, my choice would probably be the new Porsche GT2. I would definitely be compromising on the 2 seater aspect, but I would learn to suck it up for 5 years.

Okay, thought this would be kind of fun. You are offered a vehicle up to $200k that your rich uncle will buy with these conditions:

1. Your ONLY car you are allowed to have
2. You have to drive it for 5 years, no exceptions (warrany only good up to 4 years!)
3. You HAVE to perform all regular maintenance and upkeep WITH YOUR OWN MONEY
4. $200,000 or under.

So, what do you buy? I actually have to think about this for a little bit before deciding...
If he is gonna buy you a $200k car, maybe he can spring for an extended warranty lol.

Anyway, I'd definitely go with an '09 S2000CR in berlina black paint with an available XM satellite radio (an option I regret not paying for my current '07 S2000). The S2000 would definitely cost cheaper in repairs and maintenance than any of the cars named above, and it would still have people's heads turning as much as a Benz S65 AMG would, especially with the CR body kit.
