$29 for a gallon of BMW spec antifreeze...you can keep it. The Porsche screams 'my owner cant afford a 911', the audi is ugly.

Gimme the vette, actually gimme an S2000.

Gimme a black 2005 S2000 with a loud stereo.

Oh, that's what I got.

That means that every three years or so, you'll have to pay $75 for coolant. Stop the presses! How can anyone possible afford that?!? Scandal!

If you're intent on impressing people with your financial status, given that the Boxster is vastly more expensive than an S2000, if you think the Boxster screams wannabe, what exactly do you think the S2000 screams?

Spoken like a true driving enthusiast.

We don't want it. Do you take returns for defective merchandise?

C&D's take on the Vette isn't significant (far less than general decline in car sales, the economy, etc.).

You can take the above an swap out Corvette for Porsche and it's the same kind of thing.
It's a fair point, guys who buy Vettes will buy Vettes. It's the same unstoppable drive that prompted them to grow a mustache in the first place.

All kidding aside, there is a small number us who have realized what a performance bargain the Vette is after owner underpowered sportscars, or who have been won over by just how good the C6 is. But, for what I suspect is the vast majority of Corvette owners, there simply is no other car. The Corvette represents to them the pinnacle of automotive exotica. (I also suspect that these are the same guys who buy automatics, haha)

No kidding. After having had four Vettes, when I announced I wouldn't be buying a C6 Convertible, but a *Honda* S2000 I was required to turn in my gold chains and shave my mustache.

I've since had to move and change my name. Sometimes at night I hear the low rumble of automatic shifted Chevy V8's and the faint sound of Bob Seger and I get scared...
