OK C&D haters

A C6 with a regular slushbox vs. a manual vs. PDK, yeah, that's all out of whack. I can't help with the comments on the interiors - personally I think people are way too obsessed about stitching.
Make the Vette a manual 6-speed (newer TR6060), Z51, DM exhaust, toss in the 4LT interior option (you know, for more stitching) and rerun the test. I don't know if it would finish any higher, but certainly all the objective performance metrics would favor the C6.

the corvette ragtop is too heavy and doesnt look as good as the z06 or the coupe. but also the interior of any corvette for the base-zr1 doesnt have nice interior.

not a fair test. they should of used the new grand sport model w/ manual and launch control. these car magazines are all about their advertising dollars.
I agree that was unfair to use a Vette with bad tires, but I don't understand why you guys are mad a C&D? They asked GM for a car, it's GM's bad for not giving them a better example.
Piss poor marketing from a badly mangaged compay if you ask me, they should have drove a Gran Sport down from Bowling Green to make sure they had a ringer in the test. Why they didn't is unknown, but yet another example of why all of us are now part owners in GM.

Did GM give them the car or did they actually rent it?

While its far from fair, if 15K miles on the clock and "the wrong options" is what sent the Vette to last place - it probably isn't so hot regardless.
And I think all the cars tested were some variant of an auto.

You can take the above an swap out Corvette for Porsche and it's the same kind of thing.

IMO, it's Corvette or Boxster for #1, basically depending on your mood. I'd take either one, and if given one, I probably wouldn't sell it for the other. That the Boxster was loaded with $10k+ of options and the Corvette was a rental on crap tires was stupid, but neither of those things changes the fact that they are the two best $60k sports cars, +/-. (I know Vette coupes are cheaper, but this was a roadster test)
The Z4 I like, but it's not a sports car.
The Audi is, was, and always will be a sackless chickwagon.
