[QUOTE=Chris Stack,Feb 27 2009, 02:18 PM] They may sell a bunch, but I seriously doubt it's going to make Honda and Toyota say oh sh--, we need to go build a RWD coupe.

damn those dyno's numbers seem inflated by 10%. 305rwhp for a g37? 280rwhp for the genesis? seems like they should be running the 1/4 a lot faster than that even if they are a bit chubby.

interesting to say the least

-> Hmm, I'm definitely interested on the GenCoupe. I wonder on how will the 2.0T R-Spec will perform. So far, all I hear is about the 3.8 Track model in which is all good (might be too refined for my tastes).

Isn't toyota still doing that RWD coupe thing with subaru? or was that put on hold? Should be less than $30k and way more classy than the hyundai, lol...
^ Nope. The Toyobaru 086A was put on hold indefinitely:

If the G37 is a better DRIVING and HANDLING car than the Genesis Coupe, the Genesis probably won't give me a whole lot of shivers of excitement. I love the looks of the G37 and it's a nice car to drive but it's no sports car. If it's sportier than the Genesis Coupe, I think I'll be somewhat disappointed as a PERFORMANCE enthusiast.
I agree 100%... After having a eg hatch set up for auto-x and driving a Z06 on a daily basis, I moved and picked up a G35 coupe... After a few runs through the mountains and canyons, I noticed exactly what you said to be true... the G35/G37 is no sports car, thats why I traded it in after owning it for 6 months and picked up the S2000...

I've driven the G37, and it is a great car... but a GT car, not a sports car. A nice car that I would love to drive to and from work and maybe on a nice road trip. So, for people thinking that they are going to go buy the Genesis coupe thinking they will have a bad A sports car for a great price... they will be let down (if they have ever driven a sports car in the past)

To clarify:
RSX was pulled out because only an idiot would buy one, when for less money you could get more content in the newer Civic. An Acura with no Navi and a Civic with Navi. Like many people with their mortgages, Acura got upside down with the RSX...

I disagree here.

The RSX was sold and produced from 2002-2006. The new Civic wasn't released until 2006. So both cars only overlapped for 1 year. And the previous gen Civic wasn't nearly as nice as the RSX or new Civic.

I remember thinking the G35 C would be a practical alternative to the 350Z when they came out. I drove a Z and a G35 C almost back to back, and I was surprised how much milder and softer the G felt.

The G35/37's are nice cars, but don't even make the bottom of my sports car shopping sedan list.

Someone give me TheDonEffect's address. I have something to send him. I was never as bad as some of these obnoxious "Internet Tyrants" on here.

p.s.- BMW FTW...ha!

Closing this since the original link is to another forum, not the original article, and we're talking about RSXs, not the cars in the article.
