This has turned out to be one funny thread.

How come some people just cannot give GM, Ford or Chrysler any credit, where it is due? Is it just the junior's on this site? Repeating ad nauseum, information overheard in F&F or from the table next to them in Mickey D's? I don't get it. It's like they are rabidly fervent about cutting down the manufacturers from THEIR OWN country despite having absolutely no knowledge of the products they slam. I really believe many of them do it simply because they mistakenly believe it makes them sound like savvy consumers with some special, greater awareness and knowledge the average consumer doesn't possess! Even though in many cases, I'm willing to bet most of their loans or the cash paid for their drive came from their parents, whose jobs and livelyhoods are directly affected by the BIG 3, whom they slam...

I belong to many motorcycle and car forums and I just don't see this attitude towards the Japanese manufacturers on any of them. There is always at least a grudging respect.

I especially get a kick out of reading from some of the members here, how much better the GT-R is than any Vette, when these same people own neither vehicle, have zero seat time in either vehicle and will likely never own either vehicle.

I'm done ranting now.

I am obviously a big Vette fan, but for pure track work the ACR is going to work over pretty much any car including the GT-R (even the VSpec, I'm sure), the ZR1, etc. The ACR and it's motor, brakes, tires, and incredible downforce is just too much for 99.999% of street cars to handle. Of course, it's single purpose nature makes it a pretty miserable 'around town' car, so you have to take the good with the bad.

Interesting...I wonder how much quicker the vette would be if it ran Pilot Sport Cup semislicks like the Viper (and GT3 for that matter) instead of regular old Pilot Sports?

Educated speculation would put the ZR1 and ACR at similiar speeds on the Ring if both had the same tires. Viper has better downforce/slightly better handling and ZR1 has better acceleration. It would be a hell of a race.
