LOL boo hoo. I see all the usual suspects have their panties in a bunch because someone posted information that does not put the NSX on a pedastel.

Oh no! You mean it is not the worlds best car at everything!

If you'll notice, I make no comments regarding any of the cars -- I just find the data interesting. If you can't accept that, or remember that I often refer to the NSX as a "great car" -- I guess the problem lies with you. Get over yourselves.

If you want to put down the NSX for being overpriced or under performing, don't leave out the F-cars. The TR in this test cost twice as much as the NSX, ZR-1, and the Viper etc...

The F360 is on par with the Z06 at least in a straight line. Which one is a better car?

Sometimes a "good number" is not the end all and be all. Witness the NEON SRT-4 it may put up the same straight line numbers as that particular NSX. Does that make them equal?

I enjoy looking at the braking. Take a look at the 512TR, it is second only behind the cobra. Unfortunately we do not know much about the cobra, is it a reproduction, really from the 60s. Even if it is a reproduction, most of that technology is from the 60's (I am assuming here and we know what that does, but for the sake of argument go with me) so I would understand why the braking is so poor. The 512 looks to have bad braking (maybe some of you knew this, I did not) but with that huge V12 is certainly got to 100 quickly, in fact it stated in the article that they could not shift it well which could have attributed to the longer 0-100 distance. I have sat in a 512 once, the exterior is to die for (my opinion, I have lusted after this car since I was a kid), the interior reminds me of GM, and the car seemed huge. Seems like a car designed for looks more than one that gets around a race track fast. O well, it is interesting after you learn more about a car how much more or less desirable it gets. The 512 has gone down a notch on my list.

The Viper (which I have always heard about the poor brakes) showed similar results.

Anyway, in reference to if the NSX was King of it's day, I do not understand what you are trying to state. So the car does not get to 100 as quickly as others, great. This test is like taking a basketball player and making them run 100m against track athletes. Sure the good basketball players can run them fast, but will always get beat by the track runner. Now put them in a basketball game where it takes more than sprinting and the basketball player will win. Take those same cars and run them on a track (no oval, but any road track) and I am willing to bet the NSX places better. Will it win, probably not (that motorcycle is fast), but I would be far more interested in the results of that test than this one.

Thanks for the comparison

It is funny to think the ZR-1 was very close to a supercar in it's day, and soon we will be having the new C6 with 400/400 that will probably keep up with it and probably be better in most regards. And we will soon be seeing them sell 25,000/year and soon we will see dealers with 40+ C6 Corvettes to choose from. In other words, near supercar form 15 years ago is now within reach for 25,000 people a year.

That's the flaw of the NSX, it should be well faster than it is now 14 years on.

I see, well it was a reference to a thread I remember from long ago, title "Playing with the King"

by the way, the full article (worth a read) is here:

If you don't like the thread, don't read it. If for some reason this thread harms your fragile ego -- don't read it.

I find the information interesting -- and I make no judgements on any of the cars -- if you can't deal with that (which it seems you can't) -- again, just ignore the thread.

Then again if it makes you feel better about yourself, or the NSX to look for some hidden motives as to the reasons behind my post, I say knock yourself out.
