NSX-GT Concept - New GT500
Pictures have leaked of Honda testing their new NSX in Super GT500 trim for the 2014 season. For those that do not follow racing or Super GT, 2014 marks the first year of a global rule set between DTM and Super GT. Both series will be using the same spec chassis which in theory will make it easier for a manufacturer to build one car, and then have the option of racing in Europe and or Asia.
I dont know all of the rules, but currently all DTM cars share the chassis and major car components. Engines, and some of the suspension components are unique to each manufacturer. Aero packages are also unique to each manufacturer, but very limited by the rules.
I think this car look pretty cool, and gives us a glimpse of what the NSX will look like, but the car looks very much like a DTM car (sedan) as opposed to a mid engine sports car.
Evolution of the NSX...well and the HSV.
Here is a current spec DTM car. Notice the close resemblance. Mainly the rear wing, and side profile of the car.

Extended bodywork like that will make just about any type of car look similar to another. Put them side-by-side and you'll see a more pronounced difference, of course, as the bodies are much smaller on the "real" sports cars (lower, primarily, and usually not as long).

My point is that ANY car will look similar in this series, due to the extended (and extensive) body work. You stated that the NSX looks "like a...sedan" (subjective, but still) - my point is that any car will look "like a sedan" in that bodywork. It's huge!
We're agreeing on the point, though as I stated, if you put this NSX next to, say, an Audi A4 DTM car, you WILL notice a significant difference in size and overall appearance.
