On a lot of cars you get into the red before fuel cuts out. It could easily be 9k or more before fuel cut-out from that picture.

It's a 5.5L engine. It's expected to produce 400+ lb/ft torque.

I agree that it appears to be a different shade between 8500 and 9000. If you paste it into Paint and invert the colors, you can see the shade is definitely different past 9k. Could be the angle or the lighting, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
