MCN magazine didn't like the big Piaggio as much as the smaller versions. They said the slight extra weight, or something, ruined braking performance.
Not to mention that US Piaggio dealerships seem to be transition (service/parts issues for my friend's Piaggio) and $9K is a couple of thou premium versus other big scooters.

- over double the HP, w/ the same Rotax twin used Aprilia Superbikes (lots of hop-up potential)
- comfortable enough to cruise cross-country on
- normal motorcycle tranny (or optional semi-auto) vs. CVT
- rolling burnouts are fun!\
The mp3 is cool, but 9k is way to pricey for a scooter IMO. I don't even see the basis for comparison other than both having 3 wheels.

lol, I think you are crazy if you choose the Piaggio over the Spyder, but the price different is significant. I do think the Spyder is way over price, but it wasn't build for a first timer on the open road.
