No idea why people consider a Cayman over a 911
#42
no one was comparing the Boxster S with a 911 Cabrio
Now the the Boxster gets a roof (Cayman) and a new NAME, people think it's superior to the 911??
how come the old Boxster wasn't compared to a 911 Cab?
anyone else find that funny?
LOL.
Cayman/Boxster inteior build quality is laughable to a 911.
the 911 probably has 1000 options for the interior. (full leather is a MUST.)
a well equipped 911 interior Shits on a Cayman or Boxtser like its a joke.

never thought about a Cayman.
why not get the better car?

I think the Boxster is a pretty awesome sports car. I can see why others might prefer a coupe that offers the same driving experience. You think people who are shopping them don't know they are fundamentally the same car? Why does it bother you so much what choices other people make? You seem to think your opinion should be universally accepted as the only truth. Chill out!

He who doesn't understand why someone might prefer a Cayman S plus $35k over a 911S has too much gott-dam money. Your money? I'll take the 911. My money? Cayman. Or better yet, used S2000 with mods

i think people are fooled or just blinded, but a CAYMAN IS A BOXSTER .
It is 100% the SAME CAR inside and out. (aside from bumpers and a roof)

& can't comprehend the fact that turning a convertible into a coupe does have handling benefits. So a cayman is different from a boxster even if the chassis are almost identical.
But I will say the new 991 911 S in pdk was quick! But for $120k I'll pass.
If money was no object, 991 911 > new cayman s > 997 911.

Same my best friend has a new boxster and I get to drive caymans from work all the time. Shopping for a GT3 next just to get something different.
IMHO most cars are worth buying/trying out for a little. All different in their own way. Life's too short to have the same car lol

Never thought of myself as a 911 kind of guy, but I plan to own, at least once in my life. Every sports car guy needs to own a 911 at least once.

Porsche has come out many times and said they will never make the cayman 100% of what it could be because they refuse to trod on the 911's toes. They will always keep the fanboy porsche the king to keep it the most desirable.
Anyone who tries that hard to protect any car and use history/exclusivity to create the demand instead of raw materials and performance is instantaneously out of my book.
Guess I'd never be their target market because I'd never just be loose with my money .
