NO FREAKIN' WAY!
So friday if it is still at the dealership when I get there I'm trading in my S2000.
But in exchange they are gonna let me have a Maserati M128.
So I went to my insurance office to see how bad it was gonna hurt and the results are..................................
$200 cheaper than insurance on my S ?!?!?!?!
WTF?!

Honestly, I find that car particularly ugly. The S2000 is a much more attractive car to me. Yeah, it doesn't have the fancy interior but still, all you're buying is a name with that car.

Definately an odd looking car, looks like a Fiat.
The maintenance cost would scare me away.
Now the new Masi Gran Turismo
Congrats though, will definately attract the ladies, especially the gold diggers!

It's a bit of magical mojo.
What happens - which I suspect is your case - is some cars are more expensive (and likely more expensive to repair), *however*, statistically, they are involved in far less accidents (which is largely affected by the demographics of the owners).
I've run a C5, C6, Viper and 911TT through my "get a quote" system for my carrier, and the 911 is always $200 less per six months than any of the others.

I am pretty good friends with my insurance agent at Farmers. He told me that the S2000 rates in the highest tier for insurance rates in their system. Only the total value of a car can make it's insurance more then the S2000
Nice pick up with the M128
*Edit- Every insurance company has their own system on how they rate cars obviously but overall the S2000 rates the most expensive for every category Farmers has with the exception of total cost to replace.

Haha, yeah it is different looking but alot of ppl dont like the look of the S.
To each his own I would imagine.
And its not just a name I'm buying, the 4.2 in those is on the all time list of best engines.
And I do all my own maintenance, including the engine tear down and rebuild, the diff overhaul, and 2 clutches in my S. When you break it down all cars are the same when it comes to wrenching.
But seriously why is insurance cheaper?!
