Ah, not based on facts, but words of mouth. I hope Nissan will make an official statement to respond to all this. They would be stupid not to.

And Nissan will officially respond in...3...2...

There's a reason why they're $70k and not $120k like a Porsche.

Hes being sarcastic, I found it amusing. You are taking it to literal.

It's not words of mouth, it's words of the owners manual, the pdf file is floating around, simply put if you disengage the VDC the warranty is voided.

How many times does this need to be made known, to use the factory programmed launch control you have to turn the VDC off, which in turn voids the warranty, and in turn may or may not put extra wear on the the transmission, which could ultimately lead to a busted tranny.

Switchcars, as a GT-R owner, would you please verify a few things for us once and for all? Thanks in advance!

1) When you purchased the car, did you sign something that said if the LC was used, the warranty would be void? What about the VDC?

2) What are you feelings about all this transmission controversy? Is it justified or blown out of proportion?

3) You've launched the car, what is your feeling about the warranty now that you've turned off the VDC to launch the car? Again, is this blown out of proportion? I would think that as long as the car is not abused and the LC/VDC feature is not misused and overused, the warranty and transmission would be fine. Am I correct?

4) You said that you've tracked the car quite often but it hasn't blown up. VersionJDM, QUICKAG and some other people have called the car a "one-lap wonder", meaning the transmission would explode like an atomic bomb, thus rendering the car useless after just one lap. What is your opinion on that?

Again, thanks! You're also answering for a potential future buyer.
