For me anything, no matter how ugly, as long as it cost more than my house is flashy, and that S600 cost more than my house.

Oh, and QUIKAG, to finish let me just say - enjoy that C6 to and from work when ya get it!

Thanks, Triple-H. The wrestler, right?

Anyway, I know you're right in that it's only a Corvette, but again it's the impression of driving a 'flashy' car more than the cost.

I probably will drive the darn thing and the upper guys will probably think it's cool and if the staff has a problem with it, I can remind them that I set their raises and determine whether or not they stay with the company.

I think it depends on your line of work and what you do. I have always had this problem since I am an "IT guy". I work in an engineering firm now and they all make pretty decent money (Civil, geotech, geologists, etc...) but they drive crappy cars. No real car enthusiasts here.

So I hear a lot of "Boy, you IT guys make a lot of money" to afford a $35000 Lexus. I don

Life is good out here in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate NY. I'm in a country like setting and downtown Rochester is about 11 easy going miles from my house. 1,400 sq ft + 550 sq ft garage, Cape Cod that needs a little work, perfect for a single guy, under $110k.

crazy....Oh well. I like living in the PacNW, but the housing prices sometimes depress me.

Nothing really bad. I used to work at the same company with the guy quite a while ago and just am not interested in his car, especially the color.
