Default new Z28 vs Mustang Boss Lugua Seca..

probably not a very fair fight since the Camaro is about $10-15k more expensive...but.... it definitely kicks the mustangs ass...not sure who they had driving the two cars either.... Z28 seems pretty cool.... right up until you look at a $42k slightly used C6 Z06

oh ya... and a 7:37 in wet conditions (not sure how wet) around the Ring!!! that is pretty impressive for how heavy the car is.

I personally have never like or will ever own a Camaro but I have heard this new Z28 also beat the new Porsche 911 around the same track?

Which gets me wondering - who the hell buys a ZL1 when they could have a Corvette for the same money or less?

Someone who really likes the Camaro I guess?

I'd spring for the vette myself in that situation though

With that much more rubber, and power than the Mustang this thing had better be faster. It would be interesting to to see Ford come back with a response to this car with equal sized tires and returned suspension to match.

I will say that Chevy has done a great job using the various racing programs that it competes in to help progress the performance of its street cars. They are certainly making cars that perform at a world-class level.

The Camaro could have a rocket motor and do the Ring and 5 seconds and I still would not buy one. It is fugly. And huge. Huge and fugly is not a great combo. Every time I see one I cringe and remember that I want my $7 back for that horrible Transformers movie.

Not a pony car guy but I like the Mustang looks much better. I would ALMOST consider one. Hate the interior but it is a nicer looking car.

For me, and I realize that puts me in the minority of car guys, I will take a better looking slower car, than a faster ugly one. Don't hate me because I am beautiful.

It's why I don't care for the Cobalt SS as discussed in another thread (as most here would probably agree with me). 305mm tires all around.. damn.. that's a lot of rubber.

Also, it's not just a matter of raw speed/lap times, but how the car does it. I much prefer a smaller/lighter car than big/heavy.
