I wonder if the production models will have more sound deadening because while it was a blast to drive, I don't think I could handle that kind of volume all the time.

11.50 @ 127 is pretty freakin fast. Of course Motor Trend must have a downhill track. they are the ones who got a 13.0X for the Evolution at some point, but then later changed it to 13.4.
I think C&D and Road & Track's numbers are usually the most realistic and repeatable.
is anyone here signed up for a Z06?
I am way too cheap to spend $70k on one car. for that I can have my racing s2000, evolution, typhoon.

Holy...
I want a second mag to confirm those dyno numbers, though I doubt it'll ever happen (since GM would be rather peeved). Maybe a few owners will test theirs right after taking delivery.
I want to see this compared to the Ford GT. They slapped the label "supercar" on the Ford without much thought or logic... but the new Z06 sounds like it's going to be very similar in numbers.

Uh.........Can you explain why the Ford GT is not a supercar?
I have no argument if you consider the GT a supercar. It has amazing numbers, and the title is mostly a perception thing. My only point is that sometimes more expensive cars get the title and cheaper cars will similar performance don't.

I'm sorry, but anything that hits a 1/4 in under.. say... 12.0 would be considered pretty super... Be it a GT2 or a Enzo.
About the sports cars having to be raw... I suppose I can mostly agree to this...
I was going to disagree fully at first, but then I got to thinking about it.
My STi ended up being too raw for daily driving (hence the reason its gone from my garage).. but if I had the oportunity to keep it and drive it only sometimes I would have done just that... no questions asked.

A better comparison is the Porsche GT2. A full 40% of those cars have been involved in an accident of some sort. With the 911 Turbo you have AWD, skid control, traction control, etc.
I agree, lots & lots of dead people. How soon before you hear about the stupid rich parents buying it for their 18 year old kid & then blaming GM when the kid wraps it/himself around a tree.
