i wonder what the delta for "stage 2" (turbo back exhaust and tune) for the 09 WRX will be compared to that of the 08's and before WRXs.

i'm sure it's more than just a slightly more aggressive tune from the 08's engine. IIRC in one article it says the 09s get a slightly bigger turbo. that should be good for something.

now what i'm worried about is the poor 5spd. that thing is made of straws and glass and glued together by spaghetti. if stg. 2 09 WRX can make good power i reckon lots of owners that frequent the 1320 strip will be disappointed

^ True to the fact Fusionchickenleg, that is the main reason I traded my beloved wagon for the S is ONLY because of its fragile tranny. And take note, that this is my second WRX and it still has the same problem!

-> Non-STi trannys are a complete whack!, if I ever to own a 06-07 wagon again, I'll make sure my definite 1st upgrade will be a PPG gear set (1st-2nd gear straight cut, 3rd-5th helical cut w/ JDM STi 4.4 final drive).

-> Heh, heh, my old wagon had a XPT Stage 2 w/ HKS downpipe and Hi-Power Cat, an K&N drop in, and ghetto-tuned boost gauge.

+1. I am gonna say the WRX will have a different turbo and some head tweaks (obviosly a different tune).

It'll just have a different turbo, engine will remain the same aside from the tune for the new turbo.

The new chassis WRX is 5 link independent in the rear, and much better chassis. These things DO handle.

They're still ugly as sin.

Considering the 2008 STI is boring as hell to drive I'm not that impressed with the 2009 WRX.

They reallllllllly need to fix the steering on the new STI. It's the worst steering I've sampled in a sports car, ever...and I've driven lots...

The 2005-2007 STI had a good steering system with enough feedback. The new one just feels like a Toyota Camry....so dull!
