Default New Truck

The old S-Runner was great for Texas, but the new TRD OffRoad will be much better suited for Colorado.

How many miles did you put on the S-Runner? How did it hold up, in terms of reliability? My father-in-law swears by them and he's pushing well over 300K miles on his Tacoma.

I remember when you were using it to haul auto-x stuff!

92k miles. Which isn't a lot for a Tacoma. (A friend recently sold an '05 or '06 Tacoma with 230k miles. Admittedly, that's a different generation of truck than mine...)

Anyway, absolutely zero issues except the headlights clouding up, which a 3M headlight restorer kit helped with.

Yep, the S-Runner worked really well to haul the club's timing gear to autocrosses, haul my SBR600RR to track days, haul loads of mulch for gardening, and haul an entire house worth of furniture (over several trips, of course.) Never did tow with it, which we will be doing with the new one as we plan on picking up a camper soon.

Congrats, Mark! The old S-Runner's face looks a little sad and the new Tacoma has a wry grin look. haha.

Should be a great rig for you and good call on the manual transmission. I bet it'll be a fun and reliable truck to drive.

Those trucks are just bulletproof. I had an 02 Tundra for a few years that had ~235k km when I sold it, never had a problem. Nice new truck, I'm a fan of the Taco's.

It already proved it's worth, getting us through deserted BLM dirt roads at a high rate of speed without issue, letting us get home after the eclipse in reasonable time. (Granted, the roads were in good enough condition, mostly, for even regular cars to navigate.)

Congratulations! My 2011 Tacoma has 156k miles and hasn't had a single hiccup.

Pretty risky of you to be driving on Black Lives Matter roads. Be careful out there!!!
