Just picked up this 09 Yammie as my first ride. Taking the MSF in couple weeks and have been practicing alot around my neighborhood. Picked it up well and am anxious to learn all the in's and out's and getting out on the road pretty soon.

Have fun and be safe. You'll have a lot of fun, totally different experience. Nothing like the open road with a sport bike.

that's a bit much for a beginner bike

keep the revs looooooww for a while
this shouldn't snap like the R6 does, but still

Congrats and be safe. Don't just show up to the MSF course actually pay attention. It's a whole new world, especially highway riding, on a bike. Get some proper gear and wear it even if it is blazing hot. Don't be a silly squid. And most important keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down. Have fun!

Nice choice. When you get comfortable on it try out a track day. It's really awesome. And if you want some power throw some R6 cams in there!
