New NSX: 500 hp and 23.5 mpg combined
#32
Looking at the polls on nsxprime, vtecnet, and even Honda's own survey's after the recent unveiling of the Advanced Sports Car, I would say most people agree they would rather see something like the HSC than a front-engined GT.
Unfortunately, when there is a change in management, often times the new manager tries to come in and change alot of things in order to make a name for themselves and show how they improved the situation. I think this kind of "politics" is what is getting in the way of a true NSX successor. Since the HSC was really just an NSX built on an enlarged frame, Honda could have easily built it in a cost effective way. Instead they choose to chase after Toyota with a V10 engine car that most of its customer base is not interested in. I don't see Honda changing their minds either since they have already invested alot of R&D into a V-10.
