More recently, Honda has embarked on such eclectic enterprises as building a humanlike robot that was so lifelike that the company consulted the Vatican for ethical guidance in the late 90's.
This one funny..

what does the vatican know about ethics.. an organization that rapes little boys and portray their leader as god himself.

Every christmas i get a kick out of watching the TV special broadcasted out of the vatican. if you didnt know better, you would think the pope was god himself with scenes of him sitting on a throne of gold, openning the gates of heaven, creating light out of darkness - "let there be light"... scary stuff.

btw NSX content... just saw a video from top gear where they put the current NSX-R through their test track ON A RAINING DAY.

it's lap time was 4rth on their list. cars that lapped better than the 15 year old NSX?

TVR something
Zonda
Lambo

Amazing..

Well, the Ford Mustang GT is a V8, and they come with an LEV sticker on the window. If Honda can't figure out how to make a non-polluting V8, then perhaps they need to send their engineers back to school.

figures aren't exact, but should paint a good picture

Ford F-150. 900,000 sold
Automatic: : 14 mpg / 18 mpg

Honda Accord: 400,000 sold
Automatic: : 23 mpg / 30 mpg

Honda's 10,000 S2000 that gets 6 MPG when driven hard...oh yea, that makes them environmentally unfriendly

we are talking about sports cars and why Hondas dont make any power.

An Accord and F150 are not relevant to the arguement.

Compare the mileage between an ITR/S2000 to a Z28/C5.

no, we're not talking about gas mileage of sports cars...

the position is that honda is an environmentally friendly company

steve c concludes that they aren't because they produce S2000s and ITR that get bad mileage when driven hard compared to C5s...or at least Honda is as good as we think they are because of the S2000, ITR, etc.

i'm simply pointing out that 10,000 S2000s a year, even if it gets 5 mpg, is nothing compared to the 900,000 F-150s a year that Ford sells.

so steve c's conclusion that because the S2000 doesn't get as good gas mileage as the C5 makes Honda not environmentally friendly is incorrect.

i have said before that the S2000 is a gas guzzler (see my post in the west section). but don't draw incorrect conclusions from this.

"the position is that honda is an environmentally friendly company"

Ok even if thats the point, I am not THAT environmentally friendly. I'd rather have a V8 that makes power or FI or whatever.

Not having a single 300hp car just doesnt cut it IMO.
